In September 2017 I joined my business partner and sister, Claire Mackay, on a Study Tour to Chicago and New York in the USA.
In Chicago, we attended two of the top investing conferences in the USA:
- The Exchange Traded Fund Asset Manager Summit (which is invitation only); and
- The Morningstar Exchange Traded Fund Conference
We also were hosted on the floor of the Chicago Board of Exchange (CBOE), the world’s largest options exchange.
In New York we were hosted by S&P Global who organised a number of high level meetings on Wall Street.
We spent time on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (the world’s largest stock exchange) including for the ringing of the morning bell. We were also lucky enough to be taken on a guided tour of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York including a tour of their gold reserve vault deep below Wall Street.
We will share the key lessons from each part of our study tour with our clients over the coming weeks and months.
